Ok Tyla, at this point it somewhat appears you have deleted the audio driver, so like Snog said, reinstalling them may help. It may be worth trying the back side plugs like Snog said but the fact that Ventrilo finds no direct sound implies the drivers to me.
To check your Device Manager right-click "My Computer" and choose "Properties". Then click the "Hardware" tab and then "Device Manager". Usually it's found under "Sound,Video,Game Controllers" in that menu. Like Cyb3r said, I would expect to find an exclamation mark symbol on it.
If reinstalling your chipset driver(that is what has your audio drivers for onboard sound) doesn't resolve it let us know. I'm pretty sure that should be the ticket though.
Just kinda curious though, why not run vent on your main pc?
